How to alarm a large warehouse?
I work in a large warehouse with three seperate office areas, which are connected by a large warehouse area. Work ebs and flows so people stay late in various departments unpredicatably. The last person to leave an office area turns on the alarm for that area but how can we keep track of what is going on in the warehouse? The last person to leave should alarm the warehouse but how can we be sure no one is working late too, without walking through the whole space and not all areas have overhead PA coverage.
Even if you did walk through the whole space by the time you walked back someone could come in a door at the far end, see the alarm is off and then get caught when you turn it on and leave. Any alarm policy ideas?
the easiest and simplest way that comes to mind is make one entrance/exit at the end of the day.
place your time clock there and 2 bins for time cards. one is people in and one for people out . when someone punches in they put their card in the 'in' bin and whenever they punch out they put their cards in the 'out' bin.
All it would take was to see that the 'in' slots were empty. that person would then set the alarm for the warehouse.
