is there a door knob which can lock with a key, but it doesnt have a mortice into the wall?
Im looking to buy a doorknob but I would like one which is lockable, but I am not allowed (tenancy agreement) to drill into the doorframe, silly i know. So i was wondering is there such a doorknob that when a key is turned to engage the lock, it simply stopped the handle from moving, thus, leaving the door secure.
Just change the present door knob assembly with one that is keyed for locking. Before you move out, switch it back. You haven't altered the door frame in any way. Now, if you are talking about the entrance door to the apartment, this is a different matter. Your landlord has to give you 48 hours notice to enter your apartment unless it is an emergency.
