I bought a Remington 870 Express Riot Shotgun with an 18 inch barrel. Is it ready to fire right out box?
The owners manual says Remington does not ship their shotguns with the barrels attached so you have to take out some cardboard thingy before it can be fired, but mine being such a short barrel, came already attached. So, is it safe to assume the shotgun is ready to fire?
check and make sure there are no obstructions in the barrel, and remove any shipping grease (cosmoline) from the action, and your ready to shoot!
